Legal Review Board

Updated

Each state’s rules data and the articles that discuss them are reviewed by an attorney licensed in that state. Reviewers check that every rule matches the current statute or controlling case, that the plain-English summaries are accurate, and that the examples do not mislead.

Reviewer profiles appear here as each state’s reviewing attorney is confirmed. Until then, every state page shows the statute or case behind each rule and the date it was last checked.

What reviewers check

  • The fault rule, filing deadlines, insurance minimums, no-fault threshold, damage caps and dog bite rule for their state
  • The citations behind each value
  • State-specific questions and answers on calculator pages

What reviewers do not do

Reviewers do not review individual users’ claims through this site, and their review is not legal advice to anyone using the calculators.

Corrections

If you believe a rule or article is wrong, please tell us. We log every correction and update the “last checked” date when a fix goes live.
